The BKFC women’s flyweight championship will be on the line as the promotion heads to New Mexico for the first time.
Champion [autotag]Christine Ferea[/autotag] will defend her 125-pound title against surging contender [autotag]Taylor Starling[/autotag], the promotion announced recently. The bout will headline BKFC 28, which takes place Aug. 27 at Rio Rancho Events Center in Albuquerque, N.M.
Ferea is 5-1 in professional bareknuckle boxing. Her only defeat came against Helen Peralta in August 2019. Since then, Ferea has gone 3-0 with victories over Calie Cutler, Calista Silgado, and Britain Hart.
As for Starling, she’s 3-0 under the BKFC banner with victories against Charisa Sigala, Cassie Robb, and current “The Ultimate Fighter” contestant Hannah Guy.
No other fights have been announced for BKFC 28 at this time, though the promotion has stated former UFC flyweight title challenger John Dodson will make his bareknuckle debut on the card against a yet-to-be-named opponent.
