Birmingham quarterback really likes Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin

The top quarterback in Alabama is a fan of Bryan Harsin.

The Auburn Tigers are looking to make a push on the recruiting trail in the 2023 class. One of the top priorities will be addressing the quarterback position.

The team has added one prospect in the last two classes but with the transfer portal, the depth can be wiped at a moment’s notice. Currently, the team has Zach Calzada, TJ Finley, Robby Ashford, Dematrious Davis, and 2022 signee Holden Geriner.

In a recent interview, four-star quarterback Christopher Vizzina of Briarwood Christian in Birmingham opened up about his recruitment. He is currently looking at multiple schools and he hopes to narrow down his college list in the near future.

The Alabama quarterback had nothing but positive things to say about current head coach Bryan Harsin.

“He’s texted me every day asking me when I’m going to come up for a visit,” Vizzina said. “I’m excited. I really like him. I’ve gotten to actually talk to him a few times. From what I know, he seems like a great person and a great leader.”

Vizzina recently picked up an offer from the Ohio State Buckeyes and he is awaiting an offer from Alabama. Given that they are in hot pursuit of the nation’s top player Arch Manning, that offer may never come. It could play right into the hands of Auburn if staying in the area is a priority for Vizzina.

“I’m going to take a few more visits,” Vizinna admitted in regards to his recruitment. “I really want to see everyone in the next couple of months. I don’t really see a commitment in the near future.”

While he is in no hurry to make a decision, Auburn sits in a pretty good position as long as Harsin and offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau keeps the lines of communication open.

Vizzina ranks as a four-star quarterback and the No. 1 passer in the state of Alabama.
