Bills to face QB Mike White, not Zach Wilson, in Week 10 vs. Jets

#Bills to face QB Mike White, not Zach Wilson, in Week 10 vs. #Jets:

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh is no Sean McDermott.

The Buffalo Bills coach, always one to keep his cards close to his chest, avoids to giving away any details until the last second.

McDermott would not have done what Saleh did on Wednesday.

In Week 10, the Jets and Bills faceoff. In New York’s past two games, backup Mike White has started.

Rookie No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson has dealt with a knee injury. Could he be back in time for Week 10?

That answer was revealed very early this week and it is a no.

Saleh has announced that Wilson will not have his first-career start against Buffalo, according to Jets Wire. Instead, White will get the nod vs. the Bills as Wilson still recovers from his injury.

White himself was injured in the Jets’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts last Thursday, but he had already been cleared to play.

Ironically enough, just last week the Bills would not fully rule out or place offensive lineman Jon Feliciano on their injured reserve list until Saturday despite him being injured in their prior game.

Truthfully it’s a “to each their own” type of scenario, there’s no right or wrong between Saleh and McDermott’s choices in these scenarios. Just an interesting difference.

On White, two weeks ago in his first game in the pros, he surpassed 400 yards passing and helped New York upset the Cincinnati Bengals.

White’s efforts in that outing earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week Award.

The upcoming Bills-Jets meeting in New York will be the first time the AFC East rivals play in 2021. The next time they do is the 2021 season finale.
