Bills TE Dawson Knox to have surgery on wrist

injury update for Dawson Knox:

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox will be sidelined moving forward due the wrist injury he had been dealing with.

In recent weeks, Knox has been listed on the team’s injury report. Knox has played through the injury, including on Sunday where he only caught one pass. Drops have been an issue in recent weeks for him as well.

On Monday following Buffalo’s 29-25 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 7, head coach Sean McDermott announced that Knox will have surgery on his wrist.

McDermott did not indicate how long Knox will be out.

At this time, the Bills (4-3) have not placed Knox on any injury designation. If he goes on injured reserve, he must miss at least four games but he is not there just yet, the team only announced the surgery:

Considering Buffalo’s upcoming week is a short one, Knox will not play in Week 8. The Bills host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3) on Thursday.

Without Knox, expect a higher dose of rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid. Against the Pats, Kincaid had a career-high effort, catching eight passes for 85 yards.

Bills Wire will provide injury updates when information is made available.
