The 2022 NFL draft isn’t too far behind us, despite that, some draft analysts have decided to take some big-time swings toward next year’s event.
ESPN NFL draft guru Todd McShay is one of them.
The well-known analyst for the former world-wide leader decided to provide guesses in a 2023 mock draft.
The Buffalo Bills are currently the favorite to win Super Bowl LVII. McShay used those current odds for every team to win next year’s Super Bowl to pick the order for the mock so Buffalo picks at No. 32 overall, the last pick of Round 1.
With that selection, Oklahoma wide receiver Marvin Mims is the pick.
Here is McShay’s breakdown:
Another year, another loaded wide receiver class. Mims is undersized at 5-foot-11 and 177 pounds, and he hasn’t caught more than 37 passes in a season. But his 22.0 yards per reception ranked third in the nation last season, and he’d be yet another target for quarterback Josh Allen.
For the Bills, it might currently be a tight fit at wide receiver. Buffalo has Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis at the top.
However, there is a mesh of players behind those two that have less certain futures.
Jamison Crowder and Isaiah McKenzie are on short term deals. There is optimism surrounding fifth-round rookie Khalil Shakir, however, he’s far from a long-term lock in Buffalo.
Depending on how things unfold in 2022, wide receiver could be a Round 1 consideration for the Bills next April.
