Defense

Notes:

  • CB Tre’Davious White only missed one snap due to a shoulder injury.
  • CBs Levi Wallace and Kevin Johnson split time at No. 2 cornerback, with both playing 66 percent and 36 percent of snaps, respectively. Johnson replaced White for his one missed play as well.
  • The Bills played plenty nickel defense as slot CB Taron Johnson saw 81 percent of snaps after playing in 38 percent last week.
  • Taron Johnson’s snaps caused Lorenzo Alexander to slip to 34 percent of defensive snaps after he played in 68 percent last night.
  • After leading the DT position in snaps last week with 65 percent, Star Lotulelei dropped to No. 3 behind Ed Oliver (59%) and Jordan Phillips (58%).
  • A week after leading the DE position in snaps with 68 percent played, Shaq Lawson also dipped to No. 3 with 56 percent of snaps, behind Jerry Hughes (75%) and Trent Murphy (64%).

Special teams

Notes:

  • Corey Thompson played first-tier special teams snaps last week for the Bills but dipped down to third-tier against the Steelers.
  • Siran Neal, Senorise Perry and Julian Stanford also led the Bills in special teams snaps last week.
  • Robert Foster only played in 35 percent of special teams snaps last week but jumped second-tier snaps with his non-role on offense. That caused a dip in Matt Milano’s special teams role.
  • Kurt Coleman was active for the first time this season and saw second-tier special teams snaps.
