With the ever-growing injury list the Buffalo Bills have endured throughout the 2024 NFL preseason, another new quarterback is in town.
The team announced the signing of Anthony Brown.
Brown, a third-year pro who was an UDFA out of Oregon following the 2022 NFL draft, has signed in Buffalo. In a corresponding move, wide receiver Lawrence Keys III was waived/injured:

Brown, 28, was waived by the Las Vegas Raiders last week. He heads to the Bills due to Mitchell Trubisky suffering a knee injury in the team’s 9-3 preseason win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. Trubisky is considered “week-to-week.”
Brown comes to Buffalo as no stranger to injury issues at his position in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens signed him as an undrafted rookie and in his first season he eventually did see action.
NFL MVP Lamar Jackson went down with an injury that year, as did his backup Tyler Huntley. Baltimore had to call upon Brown to feature in two contests.
In those, he was 22 of 49 passes for 302 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. The first of those the Ravens held on for the win, while the other was a loss.
Brown heads to the Bills after the addition of Ben DiNucci just last week after quarterback Shane Buechele sustained a season-ending neck injury.
With the announcement that Buffalo will not play starting players against the Carolina Panthers in their preseason finale this upcoming weekend, DiNucci will start at quarterback for the Bills in that outing. Brown will likely see a chunk of playing time after DiNucci.
Bills Wire will continue to provide all roster updates throughout the 2024 season.
