The Buffalo Bills have selected Florida offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence with their second-round pick at No. 59 overall of the 2023 NFL draft.

The Bills were connected to Torrence throughout the offseason. Buffalo reportedly met with him at the combine and had a top-30 meeting with him.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 347 pounds, Torrence is coming off of back-to-back strong seasons. Pro Football Focus graded him an 88.0 in 2022 after marking him at 88.2 the year prior.

A guard, Torrence further solidifies the interior of the Bills offensive line. That has been an area the team has attacked this offseason, having signed the likes of David Edwards and Connor McGovern in free agency already.

Buffalo also has incumbent Ryan Bates returning to the fold at guard. It’s looking to be a massive training camp battle that will unfold.

In selecting Torrence, the Bills land an excellent value as well. Some mock drafts had him being taken by Buffalo… in the first round at No. 27. Included in that bunch were our friends over at Touchdown Wire.

Here’s how TW broke down Torrence’S GAME:

The Bills need to do a few things on offense: They need to get away from Ken Dorsey’s boom-or-bust playbook and move back to Brian Daboll’s more versatile, efficient playbook (surely there are old Daboll playbooks somewhere in the facility), they need to stop relying on Josh Allen to do EVERYTHING, and they need to come with a run game that works more of the time. Putting together a more solid offensive line would help in all matters, and the need at guard is clear. Torrence isn’t the most specifically athletic guard in this draft class, but he knows how to blow guys up in the run game, and he allowed no sacks, one quarterback hit, and four quarterback hurries on 395 pass-blocking reps when protecting Anthony Richardson.
