Von Miller’s return, at least to practice, has been confirmed for Wednesday.
According to Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott, the team will have Miller on the field during their first practice this week ahead of facing the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2).
On Monday, the coach said it was likely that Miller would workout at some point this week, but at the time he had not indicated when.
While Miller is on the grass in Orchard Park, that still does not mean the Bills (3-1) will have him against the Jags in London.
Miller, who is returning from an ACL injury suffered in 2022, will be designated to return from the PUP list. That allows him to only practice.
From there, Buffalo has 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster. If the team does not, the Bills must return Miller to injury designation and he’s required to stay there for the remainder of the 2023 season.
Considering the latter, Miller wouldn’t be activated just yet if he wasn’t close to returning, but 21 days still gives Buffalo some extra time to put him on their 53-man roster and on the field for a game.
The Bills do have space for Miller, though. Tre’Davious White is going to be placed on the injured reserve list in due time due to a season-ending Achilles injury sustained on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. That move would free up a roster spot for Miller’s addition.
