Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs has posted at least 1,000 receiving yards for the sixth consecutive season, a testament of how great he has been in the NFL.
However, to make things more interesting this season is the fact that he hasn’t had a 100-yard receiving game since he caught 10-of-16 passes for 100 yards against the New York Giants on Oct. 15. That’s 10 games ago.
Since then, the most receiving yards that Diggs has had in a game is 86 yards. While that is still a good performance, those kind of outings have become few and far between in the second half of this season as he has four games of less than 30 receiving yards in the past six weeks.
One of the constant themes that has come up over the past few weeks is why Diggs hasn’t gotten back on track. To provide more insight on what is going on with Diggs, head coach Sean McDermott and interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady recently gave their takes.
Brady said via video conference:
“Look, I think there’s times where we definitely tag him out of plays. I think it was something earlier in the season we talked about to get to where we want to get — to just not playing (that many snaps). There’s plays where we go into the weekend where we purposely have him out of the game.”
McDermott added:
“Medically, there’s nothing big that’s been, to my knowledge, ailing him and the communication I’m getting from Nate (Breske), our trainer on that.”
