Sean McDermott had some explaining to do and that’s exactly what he did after his team lost to the Los Angeles Rams.
In a heartbreaker, the Buffalo Bills (10-3) lost 44-42 to the Rams (7-6). It came down to the end, but Buffalo’s head coach botched it.
Offensive coordinator Joe Brady called a QB sneak with Josh Allen on the Rams’ goal line. It did not work and McDermott decided to burn a timeout. That essentially killed any chance the Bills had despite scoring on the next play.
On the play call, McDermott called it one of the team’s “best plays” they’ve used this year.
Regarding the timeout, McDermott said he felt like that was the best decision he could have made… which did not seem correct to many onlookers.
