Bills restructure Josh Allen’s contract, finally close to being under 2024 salary cap

#Bills restructure Josh Allen’s contract, finally close to being under 2024 salary cap:

The Buffalo Bills are either under, or very close to being under, the 2024 NFL salary cap thanks to quarterback Josh Allen.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Allen has restructured his contract. The move was expected because Allen had a $47 million salary cap hit.

Now it drops to near $30M.

Prior to the Allen update, Buffalo was reportedly $12 million over the 2024 salary cap according to Spotrac. While the Bills have re-signed the likes of defensive end AJ Epenesa, cornerback Cam Lewis, among others, the team also created further cap space by reworking tight end Dawson Knox’s contract.

All things considered, the Bills are likely now in compliance with the 2024 cap. By rule, they’ll have to be by Wednesday when the league’s new year begins. The salary cap is set at $255.4M next season.

Allen, who played in all available games for the fifth straight season, finished last year with 4,306 passing yards, fourth-most in the NFL, along with 44 total touchdown, the most in the league.
