Linebacker Andre Smith has re-signed with the Bills via a two-year deal. The team announced the move on Saturday.
Smith, 23, was set to be a restricted free agent.
Just before the start of the 2020 season, the Bills traded a conditional draft pick for him. In 12 games, Smith played a predominantly special teams role for the Bills, appearing in 48 percent of the team’s ST snaps in 2020.
Smith added nine total tackles including one for loss and a forced fumble as well.
Smith was a seventh-round pick of the Panthers in 2018, who traded him to Buffalo. However, Bills head coach Sean McDermott was not in Carolina when he was drafted by the team, having took over in Buffalo in 2017.
