The Bills are staring at the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. One of those two will be their likely opponent in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Of those two, the Texans appear to be the likely option, and if that’s the case, the Bills will visit the Will Fuller-less Texans that weekend.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport earlier this week, a groin injury recently suffered by the wideout will sideline him three weeks. He’ll miss Week 17 and the Wild Card round in that scenario.
Specifically on the first playoff game, Rap Sheet reports that Fuller “has an outside chance to play” in it, but “will likely be available if the Texans win and advance.”
Fuller suffered the injury 18 snaps into the Texans’ Week 16 win over the Bucs.
Speaking of the Wild Card scenarios, both the Texans and Chiefs are at home in their season finales, however, the Chiefs host the playoff-less Chargers while the Texans are facing the Titans, who are in a win-and-in scenario.
Back to Fuller, he’s a speedy, deep-threat option for the Texans offense, which helps quarterback Deshaun Watson stretch the field on game days. Without Fuller, that’s a less dynamic offense Buffalo’s defense will face.
Fuller has caught 49 passes for 670 yards and three touchdowns this season, but his career has been plagued by injuries. He’s likely only going to have appeared in 11 games this season, assuming he misses the finale.
