The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, 33-27.
Despite that, we’ve still got something promising to report from Sunday.
Thanks to the San Francisco 49ers, the Bills still sit in the final Wild Card spot in the AFC postseason picture as the weekend of football closes out. Both Sunday night and Monday night are NFC games.
The Niners, like Buffalo, went into overtime.
On the road against the Bengals, San Francisco blew a two-score fourth-quarter lead to Cincinnati. Then the Bengals kicked a field goal in overtime.
However, the 49ers got one last shot to score to extend the game…. and they went above and beyond that.
The Niners scored a touchdown, ending things, 26-23.
A win would have put Cincy ahead of the Bills, but not so fast. Buffalo sits in the No. 7 seed in the AFC, the final Wild Card spot, as Week 14 rounds out.
Here’s a quick rundown of the AFC playoff picture:
- New England Patriots (9-4)**
- Tennessee Titans (9-4)**
- Kansas City Chiefs (9-4)**
- Baltimore Ravens (8-5)**
- Los Angeles Chargers (8-5)
- Indianapolis Colts (7-6)
- Buffalo Bills (7-6)
- Cleveland Browns (7-6)
- Cincinnati Bengals (7-6)
- Denver Broncos (7-6)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6-1)
- Las Vegas Raiders (6-7)
- Miami Dolphins (6-7)
