The Bills announced a few roster movements due to injury on Saturday just hours before the team’s 2020 season opener against the Jets.
Cornerback Josh Norman heads to the injured reserve list, the team announced. Norman suffered a hamstring injury on Aug. 20 during training camp. Norman now must spend at least three weeks on the sideline. Levi Wallace is the expected starter opposite Tre’Davious White with Norman out.
In corresponding moves, cornerback Cam Lewis and defensive tackle Justin Zimmer were called up to the team’s active roster. New NFL rules allow Lewis and Zimmer to be moved up but they will automatically be sent back to the team’s practice squad immediately following the game on Sunday.
