How do they match up versus the Bills?
The Ravens offense is incredibly explosive, and probably the highest powered offense that the Bills have faced to this point. The Bills defense will have it’s work cut out for it this weekend, trying to figure out the Ravens rush attack. It should involve the secondary giving some space, and having to quickly figure out who has the ball. If the Bills defense can somehow look to stop or slow down Lamar Jackson, they’ll be in a good place, forcing Lamar to throw.
The secondary of the Bills, should Lamar become pass happy, is talented enough to keep up with any of Baltimore’s receiving core. They have been more tight end friendly, using a few in their offensive sets, and it can get tricky. The Ravens success this year on offense has been the unpredictability of their scheme.
For the Bills offense to give the team a chance, they will have to control the clock and keep Lamar off of the field as much as possible. Longer huddles, and perhaps a little more run heavy of their own. Dump passes to Devin Singletary will keep the ball moving, clock running and extending drives. Cole Beasley should be utilized heavily again in this game as well, excelling in the mid-range pass game. John Brown will likely have Marcus Peters in his face throughout the day, taking off some heat for the rest of the offense.
It’ll be interesting to see how Buffalo can hang with Baltimore. It would go a long way in determining how far that this team can go in post season. The offense needs to continually build off of their success against Miami, Denver and Dallas in order to have a fighting chance on Sunday.
