Bills’ Mitch Morse is in concussion protocol ahead of Bears matchup

#Bills’ Mitch Morse is in concussion protocol ahead of #Bears matchup:

The Buffalo Bills (11-3) lost center Mitch Morse due to a head injury.

Morse sustained it during his team’s 32-29 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 15.

Following the contest, it was revealed Morse has a concussion. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott made that known via video conference on Monday that Morse is in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Morse being in the protocol is unfortunately an expected update. This concussion is the sixth of his career and third since Morse joined the Bills in 2019.

As of now, we’re unsure of the severity of Morse’s status. Sometimes a player can clear the NFL’s concussion protocol by the end of a week, but considering Morse’s history, that seems unlikely.

Without Morse, Ryan Bates could be the next-man up in the middle of the O-line. Bates did not play against the Dolphins, so his health will also be monitored ahead of the Bills’ next outing against the Chicago Bears (3-11) on Saturday.

However, it was reported that Bates does not have a long-term injury.

Bills Wire will provide all injury updates throughout the upcoming week. Check back.
