Bills’ Josh Allen enjoyed Dolphins win: ‘Best’ passes he’s thrown all year

“I felt like the ball was coming out of hand the best it has all year.” – #Bills QB Josh Allen

The best of 2023 Josh Allen?

The man himself thinks so.

The Bills (11-6) took the AFC East title for the fourth year in a row against the Dolphins (11-6) in Week 18. A 21-14 win helped Buffalo hang onto their division.

The Bills quarterback felt very good about the way things went for him. Allen admitted he needs to cut mistakes out that we’ve seen in the past. He had two interceptions and a fumble in Miami.

But Allen was 30-for-38 passing with 359 yards and two touchdowns as well.

Regarding that side of the ledger, Allen said he felt better than he has at any point this season.

“Those final couple drives I felt like we finally found a groove on the offensive side of the ball. I felt like the ball was coming out of hand the best it has all year,” Allen said.

There was also a different Allen and Bills everyone saw in the two halves of the game as the QB alluded to. The second of the two went much better.

“We didn’t blink, we came in at halftime and at understood what was going on. We didn’t feel like we were playing up to our potential. This second half, all three phases–that’s who we are. That’s what we’re gonna need to be moving forward,” Allen said.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott added that the QB1 mentality was shining bright from his vantage point on the Bills sideline.

“Josh and his leadership and you could just tell his will to win,” McDermott said via video conference. “That’s who he is.”

If the second-half Bills remain, they’ll be a difficult team to face in the upcoming playoffs.
