Teams around the NFL are starting to take safe measures in regard to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Bills have suspended the travel of their club staff members in order to exercise caution. The club released a statement which read:
“Due to health concerns of the coronavirus, the Bills have suspended the travel of coaches and scouts.”
Just earlier on Thursday, the NFL announced they are canceling the upcoming annual owners meeting scheduled for March 29 through April 1. According to a statement released by the NFL, commissioner Roger Goodell informed franchises after “careful consideration and consultation with medical experts.”
The Bills clearly took that seriously with their decision and it’s expected that most NFL teams will follow suit and limit travel over the next several weeks. Multiple professional sports leagues that are ongoing have already taken steps to suspend play and cancel seasons.
The NFL’s league year starts on March 18, when free agency begins, and the league still intends on keeping that in place since most of that work will be done remotely. As of now, the NFL hasn’t made a decision on the upcoming NFL Draft, slated for the end of April in Las Vegas.
