As things currently sit, the NFL and NFLPA are looking to get all 32 teams on the same page in regard to a response plan for the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The two sides and continually hammering out details for player safety, and this is one of them.
Every team in the NFL submitted their response plans this week in regard to positive tests among their teams. And according to the NFLPA, the one the Bills submitted has been approved. But we’re still waiting for players to get into the building, everyone isn’t going to just walk in the front door.
First this week, the Bills’ rookies will undergo testing for COVID-19. Typically rookies report to camp first to get their feet wet in the NFL. While the NFL’s offseason as been all over the place this year, that’s still the plan. After that, veterans were still getting the same tests. Returning players are expected to report to training camp on Tuesday.
The league approved earlier this week that players will get tested daily for the first two weeks of training camp. It’ll then go to every other day if positive test rates in the league are below five percent.
Prior to the approval of the Bills’ response plan, only 20 members of the team were allowed in team facilities in Orchard Park.
Along with the Bills, seven other teams had their plans approved: the Ravens, Panthers, Broncos, Lions, Texans, Chiefs, and Dolphins.
