Rounds 2-3
No. 54: CB Kristian Fulton
School: LSU | Year: Senior
No. 86: WR Jauan Jennings
School: Tennessee | Year: Senior (RS)
Here’s where things get interesting for the Bills. In the second round of NFL.com’s predictions, wideouts go off the board fast in the second round.
Higgins is the first pick (No. 33) in the second round, while Shenault goes at pick No. 35. In total, five receivers are picked before Buffalo takes Jauan Jennings in Round 3.
In this scenario, the Bills either must address receiver in free agency, or they really believe in Duke Williams. Kristian Fulton is a realistic pick in the second round, but without an offensive playmaker added this offseason, observers of the Bills will certainly question things at One Bills Drive.
Fulton has big game experience as a national title winner this past season and size at 6-foot for a cornerback. With LSU in mind, fellow Tiger Tre’Davious White will welcome him with open arms, too. Having said that, Fulton is praised as a top cornerback, but as a very good player in man coverage. Sean McDermott’s defense calls for plenty of zone defense. He also has a blip on his radar with a failed drug test in 2017.
Depending on the scenario, it might be a disappointment if the Bills wait till Round 3 for a receiver. Still, Jennings does provide size at 6-foot-3, something the Bills could stand to add at the wideout position. Jennings caught a touchdown pass at the Senior Bowl, and overall in 2019, he had 59 catches for 969 yards with eight touchdowns. He also took 13 carries, so he does have some dual-threat abilities that the Bills could covet.
