The Buffalo Bills have a lot that they want to accomplish during the 2023 NFL season such as getting to the Super Bowl and hopefully winning a title. In order to make that dream a reality, Buffalo will need Von Miller to play from the beginning of the season and it looks like that could happen.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network recently sat down with Bills general manager Brandon Beane to discuss certain important figures on the team such as Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. During this interview, Pelissero asked Beane about Miller as he continues his recovery from the torn ACL injury that cut his 2022 season short.
Miller is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as he is not quite ready to go full throttle in training camp with the rest of his teammates. However, as Pelissero points out in the interview, Miller was seen doing quarterback dropbacks in an effort to move around and test that knee.
Here’s what Beane had to say about Miller’s progress:
“Von’s Von, you know? He loves the game. He’s got a great perspective on things. He’s torn an ACL before. It’s the mental part of it as much as the physical part. And so, just talking to him, he’s in a great spot. We’re gonna take it slowly with him and make sure he’s truly ready to get back. But, you know, paced well, and we’ll be excited when that day is to get him back on the field.”
Beane also spoke on Miller’s chances of playing Week 1:
“Yeah, it’s definitely a possibility (of Miller playing Week 1). Not saying he would do it for sure. Not saying he wouldn’t. We’re not quite there yet, but have not ruled out that he could play Week 1, if he gets cleared by doctors.”
