Bills’ Ed Oliver updates back injury from training camp

Ed is feeling good:

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver has given himself a clean bill of health.

Oliver, 25, signed a four-year extension in Buffalo this offseason. Based on his career thus far, the team is betting on Oliver’s potential to blossom by giving him that new contract.

Soon rather than later would be better. An injury would have been a major setback after Oliver played through issues last season.

As of now, he’s still feeling good.

“It feels a whole lot better,” Oliver said of the back injury that kept him out of training camp practices. “Feels back to normal, getting back out there with the guys.”

Earlier this offseason, head coach Sean McDermott made it known that the team will be counting on Oliver to be a force in the trenches.

“Moving forward, we’re confident in Ed–whether it’s Ed or anybody on our defensive line, it’s a huge position for us,” McDermott said.
