Bills draft Gregory Rousseau: Instant analysis of the No. 30 pick

The Bills got a new edge rusher in Gregory Rousseau who will no doubt have Draft Twotter conflicted.

With the 30th pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami.

Analysis: Any team looking for a situational pass rusher with the chops to kick inside while they hope to fill in the rest of the blanks, Rousseau could be an enticing option. He might need a lot of development and coaching, but you cannot teach his size and frame. I’m higher on Rousseau than some, because be brings the ability to bring pressure from every gap, and he has the athleticism to drop credibly into coverage.

Grade: B. Rousseau might not be the best edge defender left on the board, but that obviously doesn’t matter to the Bills — at 6-foot-7 and 266 pounds, he has a height/weight/speed combination that is just ridiculous, and with 15.5 sacks in 2019 (he opted out in 2020), the production is there.
