The Buffalo Bills had contributions from all over their roster against the Miami Dolphins leading to an AFC East title victory at Hard Rock Stadium.
In the 21-14 final, the Bills (11-6) needed their offense, defense and even special teams to make big plays against the Dolphins (11-6). Regarding the latter, it was Deonte Harty who checked in the with game-changing play.
Buffalo was struggling and stuck in the mud. Then Harty recorded a 96-yard punt return touchdown to tie the game at 14. Beyond that, the momentum was in favor of the Bills the rest of the game, too.
Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott called the score a “spark” his team needed.
“Special teams were on it tonight which was good to see,” McDermott said via video conference.
Harty himself was potentially the most shocked at what happened. He could barely even recall it.
“I blacked out. I can’t tell you what happened. I just seen the crease, I hit it, next thing you know I’m free,” Harty said.
