The Buffalo Bills provided an update regarding the health of defensive back Damar Hamlin in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The team provided this message, stating that Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field at Paycor Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.

Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.
The NFL previously updated Hamlin’s status in a statement, also calling his condition critical.
In a scary scene, Hamlin collapsed to the ground suddenly, seconds after getting up from making a tackle.
CPR was administered to Hamlin and eventually he was taken via ambulance to UC Medical Center. It took more than 10 minutes before Hamlin was able to be transported.
The Bills have since left Cincy and flown home to western New York with a handful of members of the team staying behind with Hamlin.
Reportedly, a friend of Hamlin’s updated that he is on a breathing tube during his hospitalization in addition to the team and league statements.
