Bills coach Sean McDermott presents scholarship at William & Mary

Sean McDermott was honored and delivered great news to a William & Mary walk-on

If everything were as easy as a snap.

Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott was inducted into the William & Mary Hall of Fame over the weekend.

He stopped by to meet the football team and decided to get in on the action, asking long-snapper Nick Levy to show him his prowess on punts and kicks.

The snap was perfect as was McDermott’s delivery, letting Levy know he had earned a scholarship.

Well played.

McDermott spoke to Buffalobills.com about the honor:

“That’s huge. Especially coming from a walk-on that went in there and I wore number 83 as a defensive back and that wasn’t really a popular number back in the day. But you know, it’s a great honor, especially at a school like William & Mary, where it’s not just athletics, it’s the combination of a student athlete, both academically and athletically,” McDermott said.

As for Levy:

After delivering the snap, McDermott approached Levy and said, β€œThat’s pretty good, man. You’re a freshman All-American? That’s awesome.”

McDermott then looked at William & Mary head coach Mike London Sr. and says, β€œI think that looks like that’s worth a scholarship, coach.”
Levy’s teammates immediately swarmed the long snapper in a big celebration.
