Bills cancel Friday practice as snow storm slams Orchard Park

#Bills cancel Friday practice as snow storm slams Orchard Park:

The Buffalo Bills have decided to cancel their final practice ahead of facing the Cleveland Browns. It was slated for Friday, however, snowfall has forced the team’s hand.

The team also announced that players and coaches will meet virtually in lieu of a normal practice.

While missing a practice seems concerning, it’s not the worst time to give the team off.

At the top, Friday practices are sometimes just a walk through for the most part. Teams have their more intense workouts earlier in the week.

Additionally, the locker room has had a bug going around it–illness-wise. Several players have missed time on the field this week due to a non-COVID sickness that’s going around. Keeping guys a little separated might be smart.

Finally, Erie County currently has a travel ban in effect which began on Thursday. Since then, around 18 inches of snow has fallen in Orchard Park and near Highmark Stadium overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

It’s certainly unsafe to travel, but that does make one curious as to how the team will get to Sunday’s game.

Snowfall is expected to continue throughout the weekend and the contest was relocated from Buffalo to the home of the Detroit Lions, Ford Field.

Last time this scenario unfolded in 2014, the Bills went as far as picking players up at their homes on snowmobiles in order to get them to team travel accommodations.
