Bills’ Brandon Beane gives update on Jordan Poyer ahead of minicamp

#Bills’ Brandon Beane (and Leslie Frazier) gives update on Jordan Poyer ahead of minicamp:

The Buffalo Bills haven’t seen safety Jordan Poyer in some time now.

Over the course of the past few weeks, the team has held voluntary workouts. He’s not required to be there–no one is. But most players do show up and because of Poyer’s known desire for a new contract, it’s clear why he isn’t in the building.

Next week, the word “voluntary” gets dropped.

The Bills will hold mandatory minicamp. During OTAs on Tuesday, Buffalo defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has said he has been in contact with Poyer and mentioned the defensive back is keeping his mind sharp and “in a good place mentally.”

But that won’t cut it next week. Poyer is required to be there with his Bills teammates.

So will he be there? Buffalo general manager shed light on the current situation.

It doesn’t sound direct, but Beane said he hasn’t heard that Poyer plans to sit out next week. Time will tell if Poyer does.
