Bill Belichick, Sean McDermott share extended embrace post Bills-Patriots

The Bills and Patriots clashed for the final time in 2023 at Highmark Stadium in Week 17.

Some speculation insists it could be the last time Bill Belichick is leading the Patriots into western New York as their head coach.

Time will tell, but if anyone is into reading into things, the embrace Belichick shared with Bills head coach Sean McDermott after the final whistle made it look like that could be true.

After the 27-21 contest, McDermott was asked about Belichick and tipped his cap to his opponent.

“They’ve controlled this division for a long time. He’s won X amount of Super Bowls. Ton of respect for coach in that regard,” McDermott said.

While perhaps not the longest hug for a normal person’s standards, NFL head coaches usually do not embrace very long. Belichick had plenty to say in McDermott’s ear this time around.
