Bill Belichick says he’s ‘looking forward to seeing’ Damien Harris at work

Wednesday, Bill Belichick talked about what Harris is doing to get better.

New England Patriots running back Damien Harris is just one of many in a crowded positional room. With that in mind, it appears he has been working hard.

Wednesday, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick talked about what the Alabama product has been doing to get better this year.

Rushing for 3,070 yards and 23 touchdowns in Tuscaloosa, Harris was one of the premier backs in the SEC.

After carrying the ball four times for 12 yards in his rookie season last year, now is the chance for him to make some headway and prove himself at a stacked position. As Belichick noted, Harris is making progress.

Yeah, well, he had a lot of opportunity to work as the scout team running back and do the things that those players did, whether it be in the running game or the passing game. He’s a smart player and he has a lot of skills that I think we’ll be able to utilize. He’s had an opportunity to get quite a few reps here in the work that we’ve done to this point, so I think that’s helped him, but he seems like he’s in good shape and ready to go. Looking forward to seeing him.

It will be interesting to see if Harris can make any sort of impact over these next couple of weeks. After feeling things out last year, now he has to show what he can bring to the table.
