Featherweights are on tap for Nov. 28.
Pending finalization, promotional sophomore [autotag]Bill Algeo[/autotag] will return from a “Fight of the Night”-earning debut to take on “The Alpha Ginger” [autotag]Spike Carlyle[/autotag] at the final UFC Fight Night event of 2020. The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Multiple people with knowledge of the booking informed MMA Junkie of the matchup Monday, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Algeo (13-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was a short-notice replacement in his UFC debut in August – a unanimous decision loss to Ricardo Lamas. While Algeo has dropped two out of his most recent three outings, he’s also won five of seven fights.
Carlyle (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC), a 27-year-old lightweight, will look to rebound from a unanimous decision defeat to Billy Quarantillo. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak that included an 85-second knockout of Aalon Cruz in February.
With the addition, the Nov. 28 lineup includes:
- Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis
- Jonathan Pearce vs. Sean Woodson
- Norma Dumont vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith

- Rafael Fiziev vs. Renato Moicano
- Devin Clark vs. Anthony Smith
- Miguel Baeza vs. Takashi Sato
