While America’s pastime is considered to be baseball, fantasy football has to be a close second.
It’s a competition amongst friends and family that makes fans feel as if they are a part of the football world in some capacity. Regardless of how you finished last season, likely every person who plays fantasy football is looking ahead to this upcoming draft with one player on their mind. For Texas fans, and maybe even those who are dialed into college football, that player could be running back Bijan Robinson.
The two-time All-American and 2022 Doak Walker Award winner went No. 8 overall in the recent NFL Draft to the Atlanta Falcons, but there is now a debate as to whether he should go that high in fantasy football. It’s something Robinson discussed on the “It Needed To Be Said” podcast hosted by Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. While Robinson himself doesn’t partake in fantasy football, he did explain that many people are telling him that they plan to take him as high as No. 1 in their drafts.
To the shock of no Texas fans, Robinson feels as if he has to earn the right to be taken that high. Hill explained to Robinson that once he eventually succeeds in the NFL, all he will hear about is how vital he was to people’s fantasy teams.
Robinson is currently viewed as a frontrunner to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and likely will be gone early in most fantasy drafts just like he was in the NFL Draft.
