On a Tuesday morning, Sooners Wire gives you the top stories from around the Big 12 Conference. The biggest story of the day is a contract extension at Iowa State.
Iowa State Cyclones extend Matt Campbell
On Monday, the Cyclones announced they have extended head coach Matt Campbell through the 2028 college football season. Campbell came to Ames, Iowa, as the head coach in 2016 after a four-year run as the head coach at Toledo. He was the interim coach for Toledo in the 2011 season before becoming the full-time head man in charge.
During his current stint with the Cyclones, Campbell has compiled a record 35-28 record. He recently led them to their first Big 12 Championship appearance and a New Year’s Six bowl win.

PFF snubs Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson
Pro Football Focus released itslist of top 10 returning running backs. Oklahoma’s Kennedy Brooks was listed as No. 3. The Texas Longhorns standout freshman Bijan Robinson was noticeable missing writes Longhorns Wire editor Cami Griffin.
Robinson recorded 530 yards after contact and 220 yards after the catch. He was one of the Longhorns most explosive players in 2020 and is widely projected to increase those numbers under new head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Although Robinson has been mentioned among the national media as a Heisman contender for 2021, he was inexcusably snubbed from PFF’s ranking of the top returning running backs for next season.
