Big 12 Championship: Oklahoma without starting TE Austin Stogner, again, for Iowa State

Oklahoma will be without starting tight end Austin Stogner for Saturday’s Big 12 Championship Game against Iowa State.

No. 10 Oklahoma is preparing to play for a sixth consecutive conference title when they do battle with No. 6 Iowa State in Arlington Saturday for the Big 12 crown. When they do so, they will once again be without starting tight end Austin Stogner.

Stogner suffered an injury in the Sooners win over Kansas back on Nov. 7th and has not been active since missing both Bedlam as well as the matchup with Baylor two weeks ago.

Obviously this is a big blow to the Oklahoma offense as Stogner had really developed into quarterback Spencer Rattler’s safety blanket earlier in the season. Luckily for Lincoln Riley and the offense, the h-back/tight end group is one of the deeper positions on the team.

The attention will now turn to Brayden Willis, Jeremiah Hall and Mikey Henderson to help pick up the production that Stogner was able to provide in his action. They have done well so far this season, and they’ll need to again against the Cyclones.

The Sooners and Iowa State are set to do battle for the Big 12 title at 11:00 a.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
