Big 12: Baylor-Texas game in doubt after COVID-19 outbreak

With another coronavirus outbreak on the Baylor Bears campus, the game against the Texas Longhorns now in doubt to be played next Saturday.

The Texas Longhorns will be looking to get the sour taste of two-straight losses out of their mouth when they take the field on Oct. 24. Well that is if they get to take the field on that Saturday. The Bears were off this past Saturday and were set to take on Oklahoma State on Oct.17, however that game has been pushed back to December.

Baylor will go three weeks between games if they do indeed play on the scheduled date on Oct. 24. Texas is currently on their second bye week of the season. It comes a great time as the Longhorns need to get healthy on both sides of the ball.

This week the Longhorns will be working on the little things they need to improve their football team. Herman mentioned they wouldn’t start prep for Baylor until next week. However, that game is now in question.

Colt Barber of SicEm365 has reported the fact that the Bears have 28 active cases among their football team. The staff also has 14 more cases of COVID-19 which brings the total to 42. With 14 days until the game, that is a high number of cases to have prior to a football game. This is the third disruption for Baylor this year.

Those numbers don’t include any players and staff already in self-quarantine. Longhorns Wire will stay on top of this story and provide updates as they are available.
