Tad Boyle has upset Kansas in Boulder before, but that doesn’t mean much for the oddsmakers, apparently. Even with what should be a packed CU Events Center, the No. 7 Jayhawks are favored by a considerable amount for Tuesday night’s matchup.
The 9-1 Jayhawks’ only loss of the season came against Dayton but other than that, none of their other games have been particularly close. Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji, who is averaging over 20 points, should give the Buffs everything they can handle and as a unit, Kansas is shooting 51.9% from the field this season, which is scary.
Based on what we’ve learned against the elites of UCLA and Tennessee, the Buffs will have to play lockdown defense in the paint while keeping Evan Battey and Jabari Walker out of foul trouble. Yes, Kansas is a different beast, but let’s hope the Buffs can use those big game experiences wisely.
