Best Photos: Top Aggie performance in Week 5 of the NFL season

Texas A&M was well represented in Week 5 of the NFL, and we have some of the best photos for you to check out

Football season is in full swing, and we are past the quarter mark of the regular schedule. As we look forward to the rest of the games this week, I’d like to take some time to recognize a few top week-five performances from Aggies in the NFL.

For the third consecutive week, Miami running back De’Von Achane reached the endzone for his fifth rushing touchdown on the season. Also, to nobody’s surprise, Achane had another huge 76-yard touchdown run that had the defenders stuck in the mud, keeping his per-carry average north of 11 yards. Unfortunately, he was slightly nicked up in the game, leaving him doubtful for week six. Here are his stats from the 31-16 win against the New York Giants.

  • 11 carries / 151 yards / 13.7 avg / 1 touchdowns
  • One catches / 14 yards /14 avg

Next, we have veteran wideout Josh Reynolds of the Detroit Lions. The 7-year pro is having an efficient start to the season and followed up a decent outing last week with a better one on Sunday. Here are his stats from the 42-24 win over the Carolina Panthers.

  • Four catches / 76 yards / 19 avg / one touchdown

In a change of pace this week, one of the top performances came from a head coach who was a former Texas A&M tight end. That’s the Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell. His team has bought into what he is selling and looks very impressive five weeks in. Rookie tight end Sam LaPorta is also off to a historic start for the Lions under the tutelage of Campbell. The dominant win over the Panthers on Sunday solidifies his recent contract extension, giving hope for a bright future.

  • 42-24 win over the Carolina Panthers
  • 4-1 (1st NFC North)
  • 3-game winning streak
  • +41-point differential (3rd NFC)

Another great week for these former Aggies, and you can check out some of the best photos from week five.
