The Penn State women’s basketball team faced off against arguably the best player in the country on Thursday night with a road game at Iowa. Iowa’s Caitlin Clark is on her way to making women’s basketball history as she is on the path to becoming the all-time women’s basketball scoring leader, and her performance against Penn State helped get her a little bit closer.
Penn State started the game off well and took an early lead on the no. 2 Hawkeyes but Clark and Iowa took over in the second quarter to seize control and the lead. Penn State held its own against one of the best teams in the country but could not overcome a massive game from Iowa’s Hannah Stuelke, who led all players with 47 points. Clark scored 27 points for the Hawkeyes and Penn State was led by an 18point effort from Ashley Owusu.
