Week 2 didn’t go the way the Rams hoped it would, falling to the 49ers at home, 30-23. It was a close game throughout, with no team going up by more than 10 points, and the Rams had a chance to make things really interesting late in the fourth quarter before Matthew Stafford threw a costly pick.
Despite the defeat, Los Angeles still looks like a contender in the NFC West. It won’t be easy to overtake the 49ers for the division lead at any point this year, but the Rams already look significantly better than they were expected to.
