The Washington Commanders are now 2-1 after Monday night’s surprising 38-33 upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels outdueled Bengals star Joe Burrow, completing 21 of 23 passes for 254 with two touchdowns. Daniels also rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown. Burrow was terrific in his own right, but his fellow LSU alum was just a little better on Monday night.
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin had his first 100-yard game of the season, including catching the game-clinching touchdown with just over two minutes remaining.
It was a thrilling night for Washington and Daniels’ coming-out party to the NFL world.
