A.J. Green won’t finish his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, at least not in 2021.

Green, one of the best Bengals players ever, has decided to agree to sign with the Arizona Cardinals after a trip to free agency.

There, he’ll get to work against opposing defense’s No. 2 corners while playing with DeAndre Hopkins and catching passes from Kyler Murray. It’s a great fit, and even better if the Cardinals bring back Larry Fitzgerald, a guy Green has openly talked about as his idol.

Green had his first healthy season since 2017 last year but couldn’t do much in his new surroundings. Over 16 games, he caught just 47 of his 104 targets for 523 yards and two scores, playing third fiddle behind Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins.

As such, it was clear Green wasn’t going to be back in Cincinnati after the team used the franchsie tag on him last season. The front office will presumably work to find a third option in free agency or the draft for Joe Burrow’s offense.
