The Cincinnati Bengals made a noteworthy roster move before the team’s preseason finale, waiving defensive end Tarrell Basham.
That’s a pretty big name for the Bengals given he was a free-agent acquisition this offseason. But an injury on the first day of camp derailed his chance at making the final roster.
Basham was one of the top players we listed who were the best to possibly miss the final 53-man roster. But that was based on the arrival of first-rounder Myles Murphy and some unexpected names such as Raymond Johnson III having fantastic summers at one of the deepest positions on the team.
The move makes the final 53-man outlook slightly clearer, with Johnson and names like Jeff Gunter still sleepers to make it.
