On Sunday, all eyes were on the gridiron for championship Sunday in the NFL.
Before the Golden State Warriors’ neighbors, the San Francisco 49ers took the field against the Los Angeles Rams, the Cincinnatti Bengals’ battle against the Kansas City Chiefs took centerstage.
In a thriller, second-year quarterback Joe Burrow led an overtime comeback against Patrick Mahomes and the Cheifs to seal the Bengals’ spot in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1988.
In the Bengals’ 27-24 upset win on the road, Burrow threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-38 passing against the defending AFC Champions. After the Bengals’ defense intercepted Mahomes on the first possession of overtime, Burrow led the Bengals down the field to set up a game-winning field goal.
Following the Bengals punching a ticket to the Super Bowl, Burrow’s performance caught the eye of a member of the Warriors. Damion Lee chimed in on Twitter with praise for Burrow. Before the Super Bowl, Lee is looking to pick up a Burrow jersey.
