The Cincinnati Bengals will close offices Friday in observation of Juneteenth.

According to Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals have made the date a paid holiday. It commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States.

The move comes in the wake of the NFL announcing last week that league offices would close, with plenty of teams around the league electing to do the same.

Bengals EVP Katie Blackburn had previously issued a statement on recent events, including a Zac Taylor-led meeting day that touched on everything but football.

Cincinnati released a statement prior to that, pledging $250,000 to community initiatives.
