The Cincinnati Bengals surprised on Wednesday before Week 14 by revealing that kicker Evan McPherson could miss a few weeks with a groin injury.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Bengals signed kicker Cade York to the practice squad, and he will be the starting kicker for the team with McPherson sidelined.
The groin injury for McPherson apparently won’t end his season, but it is significant enough that the team felt it necessary to add outside help in the interim.
York has previously spent time with the Commanders and Browns. As for McPherson, as of this writing, no word on if this injury has played a role in his poor season to date.
