Linebacker Jordan Evans will stay with the Cincinnati Bengals. Evans signed a one-year deal contract with the Bengals, the team announced on Sunday.
The former Oklahoma Sooner will remain the most experienced veteran in the squad’s linebacker room. Evans was drafted by Cincinnati in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL draft. Throughout his four-year tenure with the franchise, Evans accumulated 122 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, six tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, and seven passes defended in 60 games played.

The 26-year-old adds position flexibility and depth, playing both inside linebacker (nickel) and outside linebacker (4-3). He became a key contributor on special teams over the last two seasons but never found consistency in the Bengals’ base defense. Evans will now begin his fifth year in Cincinnati.
As a member of the Oklahoma Sooners defense, Evans accounted for 281 total tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss, five interceptions, with four coming into 2016. Two of those interceptions were returned for touchdowns. Evans also had 16 passes defended, three fumble recoveries, and four forced fumbles in four seasons.
