Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a finger injury during an early-December game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

He’s been dealing with it ever since and will do so again in Super Bowl LVI against the Los Angeles Rams.

Burrow’s play has let this factor go mostly forgotten, especially over the course of his team’s magical playoff run. But astute reporters brought it up on Thursday and Burrow himself had a pretty interesting answer.

While Burrow does say it doesn’t impact throwing the football, he added the following, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic: “Pinky is still something I am dealing with. I’m going to be dealing with for rest of the season until I give it a break.”

It doesn’t sound like a major ordeal, even for an injury to Burrow’s throwing hand. And it sure didn’t seem to bother him much while escaping pressure in key moments during the AFC title game in the win over the Chiefs.

But if nothing else, it’s something to keep in the back of the mind as the Bengals prep for their game against the Rams.
