The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft is already winning the trust and confidence of his teammates before he even takes a snap in a pro football game.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been named a team captain heading into his first NFL season, an honor not easily bestowed upon a rookie, no matter how much offseason and preseason hype they bring with them.
Burrow has been as-advertised throughout training camp, carving up Cincy’s first-team defense during team periods and clearly establishing himself as a respected leader in the huddle, on the sideline and in the locker room.
We’ll see if Burrow can translate that trust and confidence into on-field success this season and beyond, but it’s certainly a good start for the Bengals’ top pick.
